You are encouraged to either use the backgrounds in your photographic edits, OR to use them as painterly bases to take into a program where a human user controls the brushwork in the digital painting such as Adobe Photoshop or Corel Painter for a client file (subject over top of the background in a flattened delivered file).

Alla Prima Brushes for Corel Painter 2021+

Heather's Alla Prima brushes are a collection of 17 flat/oval based brushes that can be used in the portrait or subject in Corel Painter 2021 (and newer) paired with a pressure sensitive stylus such as the Wacom tablet. An Art pen is not required but recommended. These brushes do not rely on the use of the "texture" palette. You'll find this set of brushes range from "detailed" heavy style brushes for small areas such as eyes to large brushes for an array of sketching both in cloning and freehand. You control the amount of realism using Opacity, Resat and Bleed. 

This set includes everything you need from start to finish in completing an alla prima (heavy) style portrait in Corel Painter 2021!

 

These reference sheets were made using a medium Wacom Intuos Pro tablet with an Art pen (not calibrated to my hand). The brushes have sensitivities built into them. Some are size/pressure sensitive. Some are bleed sensitive (how soft they mark depending on your pen pressure).
