ON A SEPARATE LAYER.

Your final, high resolution file comes in layers, but with the first letter on a separate layer now gives you extended marketing options! You can use the first letter solo for blogging, marketing pieces, or use it paired with fonts to maintain branding consistency. 

Another plus, is when there are "flourishes" they are often kept on separate layers so you can turn them on or off when needed.
